A Pre-lodgement Check is used to confirm that a duplicate Title has been temporarily "made available" at the Victorian Land Registry Office for the registering of a new Dealing, before being returned to the controlling party.

Before lodging a new Dealing (transaction) at Land Registry, this check/search is used to confirm that the Certificate of Title has been "made available" (temporarily submitted) at Land Registry by the controlling party (usually the Mortgagee) for the purposes of the registration. Examples of registrable Dealings are Transfers, Mortgages, Discharges, Plans of Subdivision, and so on.
