A Company Report is available in two forms:

Current Extract: A current company extract provides the most recent company details lodged with ASIC at the time of ordering the extract, including the following categories of information where applicable:

• Current key personnel and office holder details, including directors, secretaries, liquidators and administrators
• Current key location details, including registered office addresses, current principal place of business and residential addresses
• Current share details, including the top 20 shareholders and details of shareholdings (excluding public companies*)
• Current registered charges lodged against the company
• Document details on all forms lodged with ASIC
• Current key dates, including appointment dates and personnel birth details
• Financial details such as issued capital and insolvency notices

Current and Historical Extract: The Current and Historical extract provides the same content as the current extract, as well as previous changes and historical data from the company in the past.

*While an organisation report reveals basic share information and share structure, public companies' shareholder and member information is not provided by ASIC and is only accessible by directly contacting the company and making a formal request.

The Application Process

Begin the process by requesting either a 'current' or 'current and historical' extract. Then, enter either the company name or company identifier (such as Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN) to conduct the search. The extract should be delivered within one business day.

Overview

An ASIC Personal Name Extract contains an individual's personal details as well as their relationship with a company. There are two types of personal name extracts available from Information Brokers:

• A current and historical extract provides all current and previous personal details about the individual's relationship with a company.
• A current only extract documents a person's personal details and role within a firm as they stand today.

Any individual seeking to research an individual's (within ASIC's registers) current or past personal and employment details or history.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

Personal Name Extracts contain personal and business details about the selected individual, including birth date, address and relationship with a company - such as their position within that company, officeholder roles, shareholdings (if available) or licenses held (if available).

A historical extract would show both current and past information about the individual. For example, it can be ordered to see the person's Australian business history.

The Application Process

To search for an individual, choose an extract type (current or historical) and enter the individual's given name and surname. If necessary, you can also select a birth date range to narrow down the name results. Pressing “Search” will reveal a list of names within ASIC's database that match the search criteria. You can then select which report you wish to add to your cart.

Please note: An individual's name may appear more than once in the search results, as ASIC may hold multiple records for that individual. Each report is assigned a unique ASIC ID number as displayed in the search results.

Relational extracts provide information regarding a company or organisation's relationship with other companies/organisations. Please note that the organisational extract is only available for the following types of bodies:

• APUB - Australian Public Company
• APTY - Australian Proprietary Company
• FNOS - Foreign Company
• RACN - Registered Australian Body

Any individual seeking to find out about the relationship of a company or organisation with another company or organisation within ASIC's registers.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

An extract containing the following information where applicable:

• Current and historical details of the company in which the relationship is held
• Current and historical details of shares/interests held
• Current and historical details of officeholder roles held
• Current and historical details of licences held

The Application Process

To initiate the application, enter either the organisation name or organisation identifier - such as Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN) - to conduct the search. The extract should be delivered within one business day.

Overview

ASIC keeps a database of every document registered in Australia. When a document is lodged, it is assigned a unique ID number which can be referenced in later searches. The document image function returns a copy of a document contained within ASIC's registers that matches the ID Number entered.

Who Is It For?

The document image function is available for anybody researching and wanting to view a document lodged to ASIC.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

A document image provides an exact copy of the document allowing you to determine who lodged the document and examine the content and details it contains.

The Application Process

Enter a Document ID number to order the corresponding document's copy, which should be delivered to your chosen destination within one business day.

Please note that the price depends on the number of pages you requested. Delivery methods include web, email, fax and regular mail.

• Documents consisting of more than 50 pages may not be faxed.
• Documents consisting of more than 50 pages may not be e-mailed.
• Documents consisting of more than 500 pages may not be sent via the web facility - they must be physically mailed.

A fax number must contain at least 9 digits (0-9). Blanks may be used as separators. De-limit the leading area code by either using a blank space, a dash '-' or brackets '()'. International numbers may commence with a plus sign '+', or the number code 0011.

A Banned/disqualified registers extract provides information about individuals who are disqualified from managing companies under the Corporations Act, where ASIC receives express notice of the disqualification under the Act.

Please note that ASIC does not record all types of disqualifications, including undischarged bankruptcies or certain offences involving dishonesty.

The Registers available include:

• Disqualified Persons
• Banned Securities Representatives
• Banned Futures Representatives

Who Is It For?

Anybody seeking to find out information about individuals banned from managing companies under the Corporations Act and enforced by ASIC.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

This search will return an extract containing details about the banned individual, including their full name, address, if the ban is temporary or permanent, the start and end dates of the ban where applicable, and if the ban is under appeal.

The Application Process

To conduct the search you only need to enter two criteria. First, choose which register you wish to access, followed by the individual's surname. The search will auto-fill characters where applicable, therefore searching “Jo” may return “Johns”, “Johnson”, “Joy” etc.

The more characters you enter, the more specific the search result will be.

An ASIC Business Name Extract contains details of a selected business name, including registration details, business type, principal place of business, registered proprietors and any related documents. There are two types of business name extracts available from Information Brokers:

• A Current Extract documents the business details as they stand today.
• A Historical Extract provides all current and previous business details as recorded in ASIC's records.

Any individual seeking to research details of a business (within ASIC's registers), whether it be current or past information.

What Do You Get Out Of It?

Business Name Extracts contain registration details, business type, principal place of business, registered proprietors and any related documents.

A historical extract would show both current and past information about the business. For example, it can be ordered to see the business details in 2004.

The Application Process

An extract can be requested in 3 simple steps. First select the search criteria (Business Name, ACN, ABN or State Number) and enter the known details. Next, select one of the matching business names or select all names attached to a single ABN. Finally select whether you require Current or Current & Historical information before adding it to your cart.
